QAstound, Elevation or TriVista — what's the difference?
Astound is the frameless linear range, built in from 50 to 96 inches, for a contemporary feature or media wall. Elevation is a built-in with a split-oak log bed and a triple-layer flame — closer to a traditional fire in a modern box. TriVista Pictura is three-sided and wall-mounted, so the flame is visible from three angles, which suits a room divider or a corner. Different rooms, different answers.
QWhich model codes should I be searching for?
The Astound built-ins are NEFB50AB, NEFB62AB, NEFB74AB and NEFB96AB by width. The FlexMount version is NEFL50AB. Every product page here lists the code, so you can match a spec sheet or an installer's quote without guessing which size is which.
QWhat does the WiFi and app control actually do?
It lets you run flame colour, brightness, ember bed and the heater from your phone, and on supported models through a voice assistant. It's genuinely useful for a fireplace that's recessed high on a wall or behind furniture, where reaching a control panel isn't practical. It isn't required to operate the unit — a remote is included.
QWhat is FlexMount?
The Astound FlexMount (NEFL50AB) can either hang on a finished wall or be recessed into a framed one. That's worth knowing if you haven't decided how far to take the wall — you can mount it now and recess it later during a remodel, rather than buying twice.
QCan I mount a TV above it, and what wiring do I need?
Yes — electric units don't produce the hot flue gases that make TV-over-fireplace risky with a wood or gas appliance. Follow the clearance Napoleon publishes for your specific model, and match the fireplace width to the TV width so the proportions read right.
