Millivolt ignition uses a standing pilot light that stays on continuously. It operates without electricity, making it reliable during power outages — ideal for primary heating use. IPI (Intermittent Pilot Ignition) lights the pilot only when the fireplace is in use, making it more energy efficient. IPI models require electricity and do not function during a power outage unless a backup battery kit is installed. Most Kingsman IPI models use the Proflame system, which includes full remote control capability.

That is the main reason people choose electric — it installs in bedrooms, basements, condos, and interior walls where gas is not practical, and it does not require a licensed gas fitter.

Treat it as supplemental heat rather than a furnace replacement. On a standard 120V circuit most models warm roughly 400–500 square feet. Some models offer 240V operation for meaningfully higher output, but that has to be hardwired before the wall is closed up — so decide before framing if heating matters to you. On most units the heater runs independently of the flame, which means you can enjoy the fire year-round without adding heat.

Size by the wall, not by BTU. The framing dimension is not the same as the fireplace's overall width — this is the single most common ordering mistake. Fireboxes in the 30"–48" range suit standard hearth openings and small-to-mid rooms; 50"–74" linear models are the common choice for a living-room feature wall; 88"–100" models are built for great rooms. Select models support both. A standard 120V outlet is the simplest installation and requires no electrician in most cases. Yes. Gas fireplace inserts like the Kingsman IDV34 and IDV44 are specifically designed to fit inside existing masonry or zero-clearance fireplace openings. The insert slides into the existing firebox and the venting runs up through the existing flue using a liner. For gas, in most jurisdictions yes — gas appliance installations typically require a building permit and inspection by a local code official. Your installation contractor will usually pull the permit on your behalf. Electric fireplaces generally do not require a permit for plug-in models, though hardwired and 240V installations may, depending on local code. Yes — when professionally installed and properly maintained, direct vent gas fireplaces are among the safest heating appliances available. The sealed combustion system means all combustion gases are vented directly outside. The glass front gets hot during operation and should not be touched. Direct vent gas fireplaces use a fully sealed combustion system — combustion air is drawn from outside and exhaust gases are vented back outside through the same sealed pipe assembly. When properly installed and maintained, combustion byproducts do not enter the living space. However, as with any gas appliance, we recommend installing a carbon monoxide detector in your home and having the fireplace inspected annually by a qualified technician. Shipping is free on all orders — no minimums, no exceptions. Every fireplace ships fully insured via freight carrier directly to your address anywhere in the contiguous United States.

Kingsman fireplaces are built to order and typically ship within 2–4 weeks from the date of purchase. Electric models generally ship faster, often within 1–2 weeks. Once your order ships, freight transit time is typically 3–7 business days depending on your location. You will be contacted by the freight carrier to schedule a delivery window that works for you.

All Lumiflares fireplaces are delivered curbside via freight carrier. The driver will bring your crated fireplace to the edge of your driveway or property line. The driver is not able to bring the unit inside your home or up stairs. Someone must be present at delivery to inspect and sign for the shipment. We recommend having help available to move the unit from the curb to your staging area.

You can track your order at any time using our order tracking page. You will also receive an email with your freight tracking number as soon as your order ships from the warehouse.

Inspect your delivery carefully before signing the freight receipt. If you notice any damage to the packaging, write "DAMAGED" on the delivery receipt before signing and take photos immediately. We accept returns within 30 days of delivery on unused, uninstalled items in original packaging. Change-of-mind returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee and return shipping is the customer's responsibility. All Kingsman fireplaces include a 1-Year Basic Warranty covering replacement of any defective component, labor included, through an authorized Kingsman dealer. In addition, Kingsman provides a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the heat exchanger, combustion chamber, and burner for the original owner at the original installation site (US and Canada). Accent bulbs, gasketing, and paint are excluded from warranty coverage.

Coverage varies by brand and series, and we will send you the exact warranty statement for any model before you buy — just ask. Dimplex IgniteXL models (XLF50, XLF60, XLF74, XLF100) carry a 5-year limited warranty from Glen Dimplex Americas covering defects in material and workmanship, including on-site or in-home warranty service. Trims and accessory kits are excluded from that coverage, travel charges may apply if you are more than 30 miles from the nearest authorized service depot, and units purchased in Hawaii or Alaska are sold as-is. All electric fireplaces are backed by their manufacturer's limited warranty, and as an authorized dealer we file and manage any claim on your behalf.

Clean the ceramic glass front with a non-abrasive fireplace glass cleaner — avoid household window cleaners, which can damage the glass coating. Do not disturb or rearrange the media (fire glass, log set, or ember bed) as positioning affects flame appearance and safe combustion.
