General
A direct vent gas fireplace draws combustion air from outside your home and vents exhaust gases back outside through a sealed two-pipe system. This makes it one of the safest and most efficient gas fireplace options available — no chimney required, no indoor air quality concerns, and no heat loss up a flue.
Natural Gas (NG) connects to your home's municipal gas line — no tank required. Propane (LP) uses a refillable tank typically stored outside the home, making it ideal for rural properties without access to a gas line. Both fuel types are available on all Kingsman models we carry. Propane variants are priced slightly higher due to the different orifice and regulator configuration.
Millivolt ignition uses a standing pilot light that stays on continuously. It operates without electricity, making it reliable during power outages — ideal for primary heating use. IPI (Intermittent Pilot Ignition) lights the pilot only when the fireplace is in use, making it more energy efficient. IPI models require electricity and do not function during a power outage unless a backup battery kit is installed. Most Kingsman IPI models use the Proflame system, which includes full remote control capability.
Yes — gas fireplaces are genuine heating appliances. Kingsman models range from approximately 20,000 to 45,000 BTU depending on the model, capable of heating areas from 500 to 2,000+ square feet. Most units include a heat-activated blower that distributes warm air into the room. Unlike wood fireplaces, direct vent gas fireplaces retain most of their heat indoors rather than losing it up the chimney.
Yes. Lumiflares is a fully authorized dealer for every brand we carry — including Kingsman. This means you receive the full manufacturer's warranty, factory-regulated pricing, and direct access to manufacturer support on every purchase.
Installation
No. Direct vent gas fireplaces use a co-axial (pipe-within-a-pipe) venting system that runs through an exterior wall or up through the roof. No chimney is required. They can be installed in virtually any room of the home as long as a vent path to the exterior exists and a gas line can be run to the location.
Gas fireplace installation must be performed by a licensed gas technician or HVAC professional in virtually all jurisdictions. Running gas lines, connecting appliances, and venting requires permits and inspections in most municipalities. We strongly recommend professional installation to ensure safety, code compliance, and to protect your manufacturer's warranty. Lumiflares offers professional installation coordination — learn more here.
Zero clearance means the fireplace unit can be installed directly against combustible materials like wood framing and drywall — no masonry surround or special fireproof spacing is required. This makes Kingsman zero clearance fireplaces ideal for new construction and renovations where a traditional masonry firebox is not present.
Yes. Gas fireplace inserts like the Kingsman IDV34 and IDV44 are specifically designed to fit inside existing masonry or zero-clearance fireplace openings. The insert slides into the existing firebox and the venting runs up through the existing flue using a liner. This is a popular way to convert an old, inefficient wood-burning fireplace into a clean, efficient gas appliance.
In most jurisdictions, yes. Gas appliance installations typically require a building permit and inspection by a local code official. Requirements vary by city and state. Your installation contractor will typically pull the permit on your behalf. We recommend confirming local requirements with your contractor before scheduling installation.
Safety
Yes — when professionally installed and properly maintained, direct vent gas fireplaces are among the safest heating appliances available. The sealed combustion system means all combustion gases are vented directly outside. The glass front gets hot during operation and should not be touched. All Kingsman models include a safety barrier screen as standard equipment to protect children and pets from the glass surface.
Direct vent gas fireplaces use a fully sealed combustion system — combustion air is drawn from outside and exhaust gases are vented back outside through the same sealed pipe assembly. When properly installed and maintained, combustion byproducts do not enter the living space. However, as with any gas appliance, we recommend installing a carbon monoxide detector in your home and having the fireplace inspected annually by a qualified technician.
Gas fireplaces are real heating appliances with glass fronts that become very hot during operation. All Kingsman models include a standard safety barrier screen that prevents direct contact with the glass. We always recommend supervising children and pets around any operating fireplace and ensuring the safety screen is in place at all times during use.
Kingsman gas fireplaces are designed for safe extended operation. That said, we recommend against leaving any gas appliance running unattended for extended periods. IPI models with thermostat remotes can be set to maintain a target temperature automatically. Millivolt models can be left on with a wall thermostat to cycle the appliance. Always follow the manufacturer's guidelines in your owner's manual for your specific model.
Shipping & Returns
Shipping is free on all orders — no minimums, no exceptions. Every fireplace ships fully insured via freight carrier directly to your address anywhere in the contiguous United States.
Kingsman fireplaces are built to order and typically ship within 2–4 weeks from the date of purchase. Once your order ships, freight transit time is typically 3–7 business days depending on your location. Total estimated delivery is 3–5 weeks from your order date. You will be contacted by the freight carrier to schedule a delivery window that works for you.
All Lumiflares fireplaces are delivered curbside via freight carrier. The driver will bring your crated fireplace to the edge of your driveway or property line. The driver is not able to bring the unit inside your home or up stairs. Someone must be present at delivery to inspect and sign for the shipment. We recommend having help available to move the unit from the curb to your staging area.
You can track your order at any time using our order tracking page. You will also receive an email with your freight tracking number as soon as your order ships from the warehouse.
Inspect your delivery carefully before signing the freight receipt. If you notice any damage to the packaging, write "DAMAGED" on the delivery receipt before signing and take photos immediately. Contact us within 48 hours at support@lumiflares.com or call 877-879-9191 and we will handle the carrier insurance claim and arrange a replacement or full refund at no cost to you. See our full Delivery & Inspection Policy for complete details.
We accept returns within 30 days of delivery on unused, uninstalled items in original packaging. Change-of-mind returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee and return shipping is the customer's responsibility. Items that arrive damaged or defective are covered in full — no restocking fee, no return shipping cost. Please review our full Return & Refund Policy for complete details.

In addition, Kingsman provides a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the heat exchanger, combustion chamber, and burner for the original owner at the original installation site (US and Canada). Accent bulbs, gasketing, and paint are excluded from warranty coverage.
Yes — 100%. Lumiflares is a fully authorized Kingsman dealer. Your manufacturer's warranty is completely valid from the date of purchase and is supported directly by Kingsman. Purchasing from an unauthorized reseller voids the manufacturer's warranty; purchasing from us protects it fully.
Contact us at support@lumiflares.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and photos if possible. We will connect you directly with Kingsman's warranty support team and stay involved throughout the process to ensure your issue is resolved as quickly as possible.
Maintenance & Care
Turn off and fully cool the fireplace before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft dry cloth. Clean the ceramic glass front with a non-abrasive fireplace glass cleaner — avoid household window cleaners, which can damage the glass coating. Do not disturb or rearrange the media (fire glass, log set, or ember bed) as positioning affects flame appearance and safe combustion. Consult your owner's manual for model-specific cleaning instructions.
Kingsman recommends annual inspection and servicing by a qualified gas technician. Annual service typically includes cleaning the burner and pilot assembly, inspecting the venting system for obstructions or deterioration, checking all gas connections, and verifying ignition and safety controls are functioning correctly. Regular servicing extends the life of the appliance and keeps your warranty in good standing.
Yes. Gas fireplaces can be operated year-round. In warmer months, many homeowners run the fireplace on a low setting purely for ambiance — the visual effect of a live flame adds atmosphere to a space regardless of season. If heating is not desired in warm weather, some models allow the blower to be switched off independently.
A pilot light that won't stay lit is typically caused by a faulty thermocouple or thermopile, a dirty pilot orifice, or a gas supply issue. Do not attempt to repair gas components yourself. Contact us at support@lumiflares.com or call 877-879-9191 and we will help troubleshoot and connect you with a qualified service technician in your area if needed.
