Questions Buyers Ask Before Ordering

Will it fit my wall?

It installs built-in and recessed. Framing and rough-opening dimensions are in the Napoleon installation manual; send us your measurements and we will confirm the fit, and send the manual, before you order.

Do I need an electrician?

Yes. The Astound Built-in hardwires at 120V or 240V, so plan for a licensed electrician and a dedicated circuit before the wall is closed up.

Does the 96-inch give more heat than the smaller sizes?

No. Every Astound Built-in size is rated up to 10,000 BTU (3,000 W). At this width you are buying visual scale, not extra heat, so treat it as ambiance with supplemental warmth.

Can I change the look later?

Yes. The front glass flips down for tool-free media changes. The Beach Fire log set and Woodland media kit are both included, and you can add decorative glass, stone or seasonal décor.

Does it need venting or a gas line?

Neither. It goes on an interior wall, in a condo, or in a finished basement where a direct-vent run is not possible. It does need an electrical connection.

Can I mount a TV above it?

Electric fireplaces are generally friendlier to a TV above than gas, since there is no flue and far less heat travelling up the wall. Follow the clearances in the Napoleon installation manual for this model; email us and we will send the current version before you frame.

What if it arrives damaged?

Note any box damage on the delivery receipt and tell us, ideally within 48 hours. Every shipment is insured; we handle the claim and the replacement.

What if it is not right for my room?
