The Kingsman ZCVRB60 — sold as the Linear 60 — is the largest clean-face linear fireplace in the Lumiflares lineup. Just over five feet of frameless flame, designed to anchor a great room. But a bigger fireplace is not automatically the right fireplace, and this one carries two constraints worth understanding before you order: its heat output is lower than its size suggests, and its enclosure requirements are more demanding than most.

Give your builder the framing dimensions, not the viewing area and not the cabinet size. The rough opening is 66 9/16" wide by 43" high by 19 1/4" deep — noticeably taller than the fireplace body itself.
The heat: 35,000 BTU, and why that number matters
This is where buyers get the wrong idea. At 60 inches wide it looks like it should be a furnace. It is not. Maximum input is 35,000 BTU on both natural gas and propane, with fireplace efficiency in the mid-50s.
For comparison, Kingsman's IDV44 insert — a far smaller and less expensive appliance — produces 34,250 BTU. You are within 750 BTU of the flagship linear, from a unit that drops into an existing masonry opening.
What that means in practice: the ZCVRB60 is strong supplemental heat for a large open room and a superb focal point. It is not the right choice if you need to heat a great room as your primary heat source through a cold-climate winter. If output is your priority rather than the linear look, say so when you call and we will point you at a different chassis.
The heat-activated, variable-speed fan kit (Z46FK) is a worthwhile addition — it moves warm air into the room rather than letting it stack against the ceiling.
The enclosure requirement most people miss
If you want cool-touch walls or reduced mantel clearances, the enclosure around the ZCVRB60 has to be ventilated — and Kingsman's requirements here are substantial: ventilation up to 200 square inches, and a minimum enclosure height of 76 inches. Venting the chase also requires removal of the vent shields.
That is a design constraint, not a detail. It affects how high your feature wall has to be and whether you can put a TV or mantel where you were planning to. Resolve it with your builder before framing. Kingsman offers front and side enclosure grills (VL60EG, VL60EGS) if you need finished ventilation openings.
Configuration: fuel, ignition, and power outages
The ZCVRB60 is available in natural gas or propane, chosen when you configure the unit, with Millivolt or ProFlame 2 electronic (IPI) ignition. Kingsman specifies that both the Hi/Low Millivolt and IPI valve systems operate during a power failure with heat and flame adjustment, so you keep warmth and ambiance when the power is out. ProFlame 2 models include a remote for flame, fan, and thermostat control.
Note the minimum input difference: natural gas turns down to 23,000 BTU, propane only to 28,000 BTU. If you want the widest low-flame range for ambiance-only running, natural gas gives you more room to work with.
Installation
This is a zero-clearance fireplace, so the firebox frames directly against combustible walls — suited to new construction or a remodel. It is not an insert and does not require an existing masonry fireplace. It does require a direct-vent run terminating through an exterior wall or roof, so plan the vent path early.
Like any gas fireplace, the ZCVRB60 should be framed, vented, and connected by a licensed gas installer to meet local code and protect your warranty. Clearance and framing requirements vary by configuration and jurisdiction — always work from the current Kingsman installation manual for your unit.
Who it is for — and who should size down
Choose the ZCVRB60 if you have a great room, an open floor plan, or a tall-ceilinged space that needs visual scale, and you are treating the fireplace as supplemental heat plus a focal point.
If your room is a standard size, the ZCVRB47 gives the same clean-face look at 47 inches and 24,500 BTU. For a bedroom or office, the ZCVRB36 at 17,500 BTU is the right scale. Not sure which fits? Our room-by-room sizing guide walks through the math.

Frequently asked questions
How many BTUs is the Kingsman ZCVRB60?
Maximum input is 35,000 BTU on both natural gas and propane. Minimum input is 23,000 BTU on natural gas and 28,000 BTU on propane.
What are the framing dimensions for the ZCVRB60?
66 9/16" wide by 43" high by 19 1/4" deep. The viewing area is 61 1/8" by 19 15/16" — that is the visible glass, not the rough opening.
Does the ZCVRB60 need a vented enclosure?
Only if you want cool-touch walls or reduced mantel clearances. That configuration requires ventilation up to 200 square inches and a minimum enclosure height of 76 inches. Plan for it before framing.
Does the ZCVRB60 work during a power outage?
Yes. Kingsman specifies that both the Hi/Low Millivolt and IPI valve systems operate during a power failure with heat and flame adjustment. The fan kit requires power and will not run.
Is the ZCVRB60 an insert?
No. It is a zero-clearance fireplace that frames into a new or remodeled wall. For an existing masonry firebox you want a gas insert instead.
