Revillusion 30″, 36″, Portrait 36″ or 42″ — which one fits?
All four Revillusion fireboxes share the same flame system, the same Realogs® log set and reflective flame panel, and the same heat output. The differences are size, proportion and the opening you need to frame.
The table below is taken from the Dimplex Revillusion Installation & User's Guide, so the framing numbers are the ones your builder needs — not approximations.

How to choose
Start with the wall, not the fireplace. Because heat output is identical across all four, size is a design decision rather than a performance one. A 30″ heats exactly as well as a 42″.
The 30″ suits bedrooms, studies and smaller sitting rooms, and it's the one to choose when the wall is narrow or the fireplace sits between windows or cabinetry.
The 36″ is the middle of the range and the most straightforward swap for a standard hearth opening in a living room.
The Portrait 36″ is the same width as the 36″ but 4-1/2″ taller in the opening. Choose it when you want the taller, more traditional proportion of a masonry fireplace — it reads as a hearth rather than a wide box. Check your ceiling height and mantel position before committing, since the extra height is what you're paying for.
The 42″ is for great rooms and wide feature walls where a smaller unit would look lost. It needs the most corner clearance of the four, so measure carefully if it's going into a corner.
Planning a corner install? Use the two corner rows above. You need the “across the corner” measurement as the diagonal face, and the “along each wall” measurement on both adjoining walls. This is where most corner projects go wrong.
