Most fireplaces give you one view. The Kingsman Designer Clean View gives you two. Mounted in a shared wall between a living room and a dining room, a kitchen and a family room, or a bedroom and a sitting area — this See-Through fireplace becomes the centerpiece of both spaces at once.

Why It's Different

The MCVST42 is purpose-built as a see-through installation. Unlike a standard built-in fireplace that terminates at one wall, this unit opens on both the front and back faces — creating a shared flame experience across two rooms simultaneously. It's the detail that defines open-plan luxury homes, restaurants, and high-end renovations where the fireplace is meant to be seen from every angle.

Every element of the Clean View design is built around the unobstructed flame. There are no louvers, no grilles, and no visual interruptions — just glass on both sides and fire between them. The zero-clearance construction means it can go directly into a framed wall without a traditional masonry surround, making it equally suited to new construction and renovation projects.

The ceramic glass variants deserve special attention. Ceramic glass handles significantly higher operating temperatures than tempered glass, delivers more radiant heat output, and has a longer service life. The efficiency rating jumps from the mid-50s to as high as 70.36% when you choose ceramic glass with IPI ignition — a meaningful difference in both operating cost and warmth. If you are building for the long term, the ceramic glass variant is the right choice.

Configuration Guide

Fuel type — Natural Gas or Propane?
Natural gas connects to your home's existing gas line. Propane uses a tank and is the right choice if your home is not on a natural gas line. Your installer will confirm which is available at your location.

Ignition — Millivolt or IPI?
Millivolt uses a standing pilot light — no electricity required. Simple, reliable, works during any power outage. IPI (Intermittent Pilot Ignition) uses an electronic spark, lights only on demand, and saves gas in standby. Both operate during power outages — the IPI system includes a wall-mount battery backup holder. Choose IPI for energy efficiency, Millivolt for simplicity.

Glass type — Tempered or Ceramic?
Tempered glass is the standard specification for most residential installations. Ceramic glass handles higher operating temperatures, produces more radiant heat, and has a longer service life — with efficiency ratings up to 70.36% vs. 59.55% on the tempered IPI versions. For primary heating use or large open-plan spaces, ceramic glass is the recommended choice.

Media — Log Set or Glass?
Choose an Oak Log Set (8 piece), Driftwood Log Set (6 piece), or a Glass Tray with Bronze Ember Glass and optional Cannonballs. Log sets create a traditional fire look. Glass media produces a contemporary ribbon-flame appearance. A liner — Porcelain Reflective or Traditional Brick Refractory — completes the interior finish. All available as add-ons.

Because our fireplaces are large, heavy items, they ship via specialized freight carriers — not standard parcel services. This page explains what to expect, how to inspect your delivery, and how we protect you if anything goes wrong.

If your fireplace arrives damaged and you follow the steps below, we'll take care of everything — whether that means sending a replacement or issuing a full refund. No cost to you, no runaround.

Scheduling your delivery

Once your order ships, the freight carrier will call the phone number you provided at checkout to schedule a delivery window that works for you.

  • Someone needs to be home to inspect and sign for the shipment.
  • Most deliveries are curbside — the driver brings your item to the edge of your property, but is not typically able to bring it inside or up stairs.
  • If you need to reschedule, contact the carrier directly as soon as possible to avoid storage fees.

Inspecting your delivery before you sign

Before signing the delivery receipt, take a moment to look over the packaging. This step is important — your signature releases the carrier from responsibility for visible damage.

  • Check for crushed corners, holes, or signs that the box has been tipped or dropped.
  • If you spot any packaging damage, write "DAMAGED" on the delivery receipt before signing.
  • Take a quick photo of the box while it's still on the truck — this is the strongest evidence for any claim.
Serious damage? If the box is heavily damaged or the product inside is clearly broken, you can refuse the delivery entirely. The driver will return it, and we'll get a replacement on its way to you.

Checking for concealed damage

Sometimes packaging looks fine on the outside but the item inside has been damaged in transit. Open your boxes and inspect your fireplace as soon as possible after delivery.

  • If you find damage, photograph both the item and the packaging.
  • Email us at support@lumiflares.com with your order number and photos.
  • Keep all original boxes and packaging until your claim is fully resolved.

Report concealed damage within 48 hours of delivery. After this window, it becomes significantly harder to file a carrier insurance claim on your behalf.
